The day before her appointment, we went for a walk-through where they let her sit in the chair and go up and down. She met all the dentist tools: "Mr. Thirsty" who drinks the water/spit out of your mouth, the water gun, and the electric tooth brush that also makes your finger dance when you hold to your finger. They also took her to the x-ray room to show her the special chair she would sit in and the special camera that would take pictures of her mouth. Then, they took us back to watch a short video of a chimpanzee getting his teeth cleaned at the dentist office to make her laugh as well as to show her some things NOT to do. The next day she asked ALL morning, "Can we go to my 'poinment now?" and "Is it time for my poinment yet?"
She was a star patient, as I expected. (I know....that's a proud momma speaking.) The hygenists said they wished all their patients were as helpful as she was. She held her mouth open wide the whole time and would tilt her head this way and that just as instructed. She smiled, said thank you, and really was a cutie-patootie if I don't say so myself. I smiled and giggled to myself throughout the whole thing. She got 3 prizes from the prize box at the end of the visit.
