Before reading this, remember I am 32 weeks pregnant....
Tonight Rayleigh looked at me and said, "Mom, you're soo skinny!"
Me - "Awww....(chuckle)...Thank you, Sweetheart." (Though far from skinny I was flattered by her compliment.)
Rayleigh - "Yeah, like a baby elephant."
HUMPH! Deflated....Though I'm sure she meant well.
One night after getting off the phone with Jason, she looked at me and said like a perfect grown up and nodding her head, "He's a good man."
One morning last week she woke up to rain and ran in our room exclaiming, "It's raining! It's raining!"
Me - "Oh yeah?" So I got up to go look out the front window with her, and sure enough it was!
Me - "It sure is, Rayleigh. You were right."
Rayleigh - "Yea rain! Yea God!"
After being caught out of bed playing during nap time...
Me - "Rayleigh Jo, what are you doing out of bed?"
R - "Sooooo....I wanted to play. Because I'm not sleepy, soooo I played and I couldn't sleep."
Me - "You're not supposed to be out of bed. You are supposed to be resting in bed or sleeping. Where are your clothes?"
R - "Soooo....I'm not sleepy. Soooo.....I wanted to play dress up with my princess dress? Because I wanted to play and dress-up and..... Sooo...."
I can already see where the adolescent years will be taking me. I've got a negotiator on my hands.
Rayleigh with another little girl from church at our youth holiday party. Yes, they are loading up on sugar, eating the cookies they decorated that had LOTS of icing and EVEN MORE sprinkles.
Did you know your layer of sprinkles can be as thick as the cookie itself? Rayleigh's sure was...
